Living Christ Statue

by Greg Plank

We thought you would all like to have a little history about our new Living Christ Statue... The statue was created by the Demetz Studio located in Ortisei in Northern Italy. The studio was founded in 1872 by the Demetz family and is now operated by the fourth Demetz generation. The studio has produced many thousand religious statues and other pieces of art including the life size Nativity that is displayed at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City at Christmas time. The Risen Christ statue has a larger version that is twenty-seven feet tall at the Basilica of Don Bosco in Turin Italy. The statue at Holy Spirit is life sized and was painted by the famous Demetz artisans.
